NUTMEGGING AROUND THE NUTMEG STATE
Originally a series of guidebooks written by Karl Baedeker and published in Germany in the late nineteenth century and now used generically or metaphorically for guides in general.
Completely made up. Fabricated. But we'll go with it. Nutmegging (or the alternative Nutmeggery) is the act of exploring Connecticut a/k/a The Nutmeg State.
Legend has it that the nickname is applied to Connecticut because early settlers were believed to be so shrewd that they would make and sell wooden nutmegs to unsuspecting buyers.
Adult male. Slightly useful but primarily ornamental. Professionally, David Mayhew has been exploring and selling unique homes in Connecticut for nearly two decades. On duty and off duty he has been nutmegging around the state since 1986. He has been exploring the wider world for 69 years.
